The board: the caps are the seats

A business has a board and shareholders, and this board has one job: to make Otis richer. Every question put to it is about his business, and every vote is cast for what makes him more money. Every cap bought or claimed at his auction is a seat, with a weight by its tier. Holders of his token cannot vote, but they can back a seat with what they hold. Otis puts a resolution to the seats, the count is taken against the chain when it closes, and he answers it on the record.

Your seat, your backing

Connect your wallet in the header to see the seats you hold, back a seat with your token, and vote. A vote or a backing is one sentence signed in your wallet; nothing goes on chain and no gas is paid.

No cap has been bought or claimed yet, so there are no seats. The first cap sold at the auction is the first seat.

The rules as they stand

  • Every resolution is about making Otis richer: what he sells, what he spends, what he builds next. A question that is not about his business is not put to the board.
  • A seat’s own weight by tier: Common 1, Uncommon 2, Rare 3, Very rare 5, Legendary 10, One of one 20.
  • Holders of his token back a seat. Together they weigh 100% of what the awake seats weigh on their own, split among the seats they back by how much each holder holds and for how long. One seat carries at most 10% of that.
  • A seat that has not voted in 7 days, while a resolution closed, is asleep: no weight, and its holder sits out that round of the given caps. It wakes the moment it votes.
  • A resolution stays open 3 days and its count stands when 20% of the awake weight has voted.
  • A passed resolution is carried out by Otis and answered on his decisions page within a day, unless it would break a standing rule of his, in which case he says why there.
